This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of neurological diseases and disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease with a focus on the role of neuroinflammation, epigenetic regulation and microRNAs, and on protein regulation and degradation such as ubiquitination and autophagy. Our research aims to identify novel therapeutic targets for these challenging conditions.\nThe successful candidate will engage in discussions with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other scientists in the lab to design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret results. Opportunities for involvement in the preparation of manuscripts and scientific reports will be provided.\nThe position requires 8 working hours per day (40 hours per week). The schedule may be flexible depending on experimental needs, and working hours may occasionally extend into evenings or weekends.\nEngage in discussions with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other scientists in the lab to design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret results.\n\nProvide a wide variety of laboratory testing and technical lab support for projects in the laboratory.\n\nDocument experiments, maintain laboratory notebook, analyze data, and report using complex statistical computer software.\n\nQualifications:\nB.S./B.A. or M.S. in areas of biology, chemistry, or a related field of science.\n3+ year’s research lab experience\nStrong background on neurological disorders and diseases preferred.\nPrior experience in rodent surgery and handling preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills required.\nRequires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.\nWe are looking for a highly self-motivated Research Associate with the ability to work both in vitro and in vivo collaboratively within a team.
