Learn more about NRM by clicking here.\nJob Description:\nCawood currently have an opportunity for a Soil Technician to be based out of our site in Bracknell on a full time, permanent basis.\nResponsibilities\nUnload and move heavy batches of samples to the Grinder room.\nHandle samples and place them into drying trays as preparation for grinding.\nPrepare and grind samples to required standard into batch trays ready for extraction.\nSort samples into order and manually stamp with unique ID number. Attention to detail is essential to ensure no errors in sorting.\nEmpty heavy sample bags and extraction buckets into allocated bins on site.\nPerform maintenance on the equipment when required. \nWeigh dry samples and record data onto LIMs system and calculate the Dry Matter Percentage.\nUnderstand and follow the Standard Operating Procedures provided.\nTo work in other preparation roles within the company as the workload dictates.\nMaintain Cawood credibility by always portraying a positive image, keeping equipment and PPE clean. \nRespect company equipment and use as per guidelines. Report any damage to management as soon as possible.\nWork as a team and maintaining morale and actively offer help and assistance wherever possible. \nResponsible for keeping safety at the forefront of lab work and being proactive ensuring accidents and near misses are always reported straightaway to Managers in line with our company accreditation and policy.\nWhen required, assist with on-site training of new employees providing proactive support ensuring their onboarding into the company is friendly, engaging and inspiring.\nKey Skills\nEnthusiasm, energy, and ability to handle high levels of workload which include heavy lifting.\nMust be able to work effectively and collaborate within own team and other sections.\nMust take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.\nStrong communication skills\nMust possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.\nHighly organised and excellent time management skills.\nExcellent team player with the ability to work alone.\nExperience working with high-volume turnover of work in a busy environment\n\nPlease note: This role is based on an early shift pattern.
