This role requires deep technical understanding of Jira Data Center, Jira Cloud, and ITSM processes, along with a proven ability to deliver scalable, maintainable automation and integration solutions.\nThis position aligns with Cayuse’s core values of Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Integrity by fostering technical solutions that meet customer needs, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing quality in deliverables.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain custom functionality leveraging Groovy (ScriptRunner) and Java for Jira and JSM.\nBuild automation scripts, post-functions, listeners, validators, and conditions to streamline workflows and business processes.\nDesign and manage custom integrations with external systems using REST APIs, JSON payloads, and structured data transformations.\nConfigure and programmatically manage Jira workflows, transitions, issue types, issue type schemes, screen schemes, field configurations, custom fields, and context management.\nWrite optimized JQL queries to support complex scripted searches and logical operations.\nWork with Jira Assets (formerly Insight) to build custom object models and automation rules, supporting ITSM processes.\nDesign advanced automation solutions that align with organizational goals, ensuring compatibility between Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud.\nEnable seamless system interoperability by building and maintaining integrations with external systems.\nDevelop robust APIs and execute reliable data exchanges through JSON payload handling.\nWrite and execute efficient SQL queries to interact with Jira databases for reporting, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.\nSupport Jira system optimization through database interactions.\nDiagnose and resolve complex issues related to custom scripting, workflow design, automation, API integrations, and database configurations.\nDeliver thorough, user-friendly documentation for all custom configurations, development activities, and integration workflows.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nQualifications - Here’s What You Need:\n4-Year Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, OR Equivalent Experience.\n8+ years of professional experience in Jira development, scripting, and integration.\nProficiency in Groovy (ScriptRunner) and Java for advanced scripting and development.\nHands-on experience with REST API development and handling JSON data structures.\nDeep technical knowledge of Jira workflows, Jira Assets (formerly Insight), ITSM processes, and Jira’s configuration ecosystem.\nExperience with both Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud patterns, including migrations and cross-platform development.\nAdvanced skills in JQL (Jira Query Language) for effective search queries and scripted logic.\nSolid expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for database interactions, reporting, and system analysis.\nProven capability to build reusable object models and automation rules to support key operational processes.\nStrong debugging skills for troubleshooting custom scripts, workflow logic, integrations, and database issues.\nExperience optimizing system performance within complex environments.\nActive Top Secret Security Clearance.\nMust be able to pass a background check.
