This position requires a foundational understanding of network systems to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN). The candidate will provide technical guidance, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure the stability of network operations. Additionally, the Network Specialist will interact with vendor support services and contribute to capacity planning and escalation procedures.\nThis position aligns with Cayuse’s core values of Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Integrity by fostering technical solutions that meet customer needs, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing quality in deliverables.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical guidance for the direction and monitoring of information systems operations, ensuring maximum network efficiency.\nDesign, build, implement, and maintain network systems, including LAN, MAN, and WAN infrastructures.\nDirect and oversee the compilation of records and reports related to network operations and maintenance.\nTroubleshoot and resolve network performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.\nAnalyze network traffic metrics to help optimize performance and provide capacity planning recommendations.\nActively monitor and address complex hardware and software issues within technical control facilities.\nCollaborate with vendor support service organizations to facilitate escalation processes during outages or periods of degraded system performance.\nManage end-to-end processes for the procurement, testing, installation, and support of network communications hardware and software.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nQualifications - Here’s What You Need\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in related network functions is preferred.\nCertifications (Preferred):Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT).\nCompTIA Security+, or other equivalent certifications.\n\nStrong understanding of basic networking concepts, protocols, and practices.\nProficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting network performance issues and providing efficient solutions.\nFamiliarity with network monitoring tools and techniques for ensuring system uptime and performance.\nAbility to work collaboratively with technical teams and liaise with vendor service groups to address network challenges.\nKnowledge of network hardware/software configurations and capacity planning strategies.\nEffective communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\nA Top-Secret Security Clearance is required.\nMust be able to pass a background check.
