Intervenes directly only in situations which require minimal action to safeguard property or persons.\nMonitors radio communications to maintain range access records. May be required to operate handheld radio.\nObserves vehicle traffic and validates facility entrance requirements. \nVerifies visitor access and maintains visitor control log.\nIssues visitor badges and verifies escort requirements as necessary.\nConducts regular perimeter and building checks.\nResponsible for the safekeeping of facilities and equipment and the safeguarding of sensitive information. Controls building access and performs physical security checks.\nRestricts access to facilities to authorized personnel. \nMaintains current access roster. Maintains the log of all personnel entering or leaving the facilities. \nResponsible for communications with Guard posts and roving patrols and for monitoring passive surveillance and alarms systems.\nDevelops and maintains emergency incident and response procedures. Responsible for accident/incident reporting. \nIssues badges to cleared contractor employees, Government employees, and to visitors who have a valid Visit Authorization Request (VAR) on file. \nVisually checks all vehicles entering restricted areas for unauthorized items such as alcohol, cameras, firearms, etc. Assists in annotation of roving patrol personnel in Job Control absence. \nPerforms all other position related duties as assigned or requested. \nQualifications\nMinimum Education Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n\nMinimum Experience Requirements:\nTwo years’ experience in military or Industrial Security\nSix months’ experience in administrative, technical, clerical, military or other work that involved:\nWritten procedures\nRules or regulations in contacts with coworkers, supervisors, or members of the public to provide a service\nRespond to inquiries\nObtain information\nAbility to speak, read, and write EnglishMinimum Position-Specific Training Required:\nSix months’ experience involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, trespass, maintaining order, and protecting life\nCapable of comprehending and implementing instructions concerning the operation of mechanical equipment such as generators, air conditioners, fire protection equipment, and other emergency equipment.\nAbility to perform in a professional manner and maintain a neat and clean appearance\nPossess a valid state Driver’s License\nCitizenship and Security Clearance Requirements: \nUS Citizen\nObtain and maintain the appropriate level of clearance\nCertification Requirements:\nNone\n\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: \nWork is primarily conducted in a single person guard shack located at an access control point.\nOccasional lifting to 20 pounds, sitting while using the computer terminal, use of sight, hearing and speech abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to signal and talk or listen. \nThe employee is required to walk over uneven terrain in low light conditions during periodic rounds several times a shift; and reach with hands and arms.\nThe employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, cold, wet and/or humid conditions. \nThis position may work one of three shifts that cover a 24-hour period.
