This position will play a key role in supporting a variety of IT projects and system functions, including monitoring and maintaining operating systems and hardware, diagnosing technical issues, and providing proactive solutions.\nThis position aligns with Cayuse’s core values of Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Integrity by fostering technical solutions that meet customer needs, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing quality in deliverables.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nSystem Monitoring and Maintenance:Monitor and control computer operating systems, including Windows or UNIX-based systems such as Linux or Solaris, ensuring their optimal performance and uptime.\nPerform regular preventive maintenance to enhance system reliability and minimize downtime.\n\nTroubleshooting and Diagnostics:Analyze system faults to identify issues and recommend solutions.\nConduct root-cause analysis and diagnostic testing on operating systems and hardware to detect and resolve performance problems or system malfunctions.\n\nSoftware Installation and Testing:Evaluate and install developed software at various stages of testing implementation while ensuring full system compatibility.\nPerform thorough reviews and document results of system tests and software installations to ensure accuracy and transparency.\n\nTechnical Analysis and Problem Solving:Investigate and recommend effective methods and techniques for problem identification, resolution, and system improvement.\nIdentify risks and provide input on potential mitigations through documented analysis and testing.\n\nSystems Administration Support:Administer and support systems and environmental solutions for multiple concurrent projects, aligning efforts with project schedules and milestones.\nProvide support for system upgrades, migrations, and integration with minimal disruption to users or operations.\nInterface with vendors for escalating unresolved issues or coordinating hardware and software repairs under warranty or service level agreements.\n\nDocumentation and Reporting:Prepare and update system designs, user guides, and test documentation as required by project deliverables or operational needs.\nEnsure all documentation adheres to internal policies and meets government standards and expectations.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nQualifications - Here’s What You Need\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience (less than 2 years).\nFoundational knowledge of system administration, basic troubleshooting, and familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Solaris.\npossessing or obtaining a relevant Information Assurance (IA) certification, such as:CompTIA Security+\nCompTIA A+\nCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)\n\nTop-Secret Clearance is required.\nMust be able to pass a background check.
