The Role

Join our Perth-based Engineering team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, contributing to varied materials handling, port, rail and network wide improvement projects across WA.

Known at CBH as a Senior Specialist - Mechanical Engineer, you will provide specialist technical advice and practical engineering solutions from design through to commissioning, collaborating with operations, maintenance, project teams and contractors to deliver safe and reliable outcomes.

This client-side role offers technical variety across improvement projects, throughput upgrades, and brownfield and greenfield environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development of practical mechanical designs for sustaining capital, rail, expansion and improvement projects.
  • Provide specialist advice across materials handling equipment, port infrastructure and mechanical systems.
  • Guide projects through design reviews, technical queries, construction support and commissioning.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, consultants and contractors to deliver safe and reliable outcomes.
  • Champion engineering standards, safety in design and continuous improvement across the CBH network.

About You:

  • Mechanical engineering qualifications supported by extensive relevant industry experience.
  • The ability to develop safe, considered and practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong judgement when balancing technical requirements, safety, schedules, budgets and operational needs.
  • Clear communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting shared outcomes.
