You'll serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring our clients receive expert guidance and outstanding service in complex accounting and financial reporting matters.\nWe ideally seek a candidate located within the San Francisco Bay Area, in proximity to our CBIZ office, to support a flexible hybrid work model. However, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, as we remain open to remote work arrangements.\nEssential Functions and Primary Duties\nWork directly with clients and their external audit firms to lead and manage technical accounting advisory projects, covering areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity transactions, debt arrangements, business combinations, lease accounting (ASC 842), financial reporting, and SEC reporting\n\nServe as the primary client contact, managing engagements, fostering strong relationships, and proactively addressing client needs\n\nDemonstrate a deep knowledge of the client’s business and identify high-risk accounting areas\n\nOversee and manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications to ensure successful outcomes\n\nGenerate written components of various reports/deliverables related to engagements\n\nEfficiently research technical accounting topics as it pertains to the engagement\n\nTrain, mentor, and develop staff and senior staff members, promoting a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth\n\nIdentify and implement technology solutions and tools to streamline processes and enhance workflow efficiency\n\nActively participate in thought leadership initiatives, contributing to internal knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement activities\n\nSupporting business development efforts through client relationships and networking\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA, CFA, CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business-related field\n\nU.S. CPA certification\n\n5+ years related experience\n\nSignificant technical accounting experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition, equity transactions, debt structures, leases, business combinations, and SEC reporting\n\nIPO readiness or direct IPO experience highly desirable\n\nPrior industry or operational experience in technology and/or biotechnology sectors is strongly preferred\n\nPrior public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firms preferred)\n\nDemonstrated success in managing client service, building strong relationships, and balancing multiple concurrent engagements\n\nTech-savvy with enthusiasm for experimenting with new technology tools and applications to optimize accounting processes and workflows\n\nExperience identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and AI tools into client service delivery and internal processes\n\nFamiliarity with workflow automation solutions (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, UiPath) and collaboration platforms is a plus\n\nKnowledge of IFRS standards\n\nExperience with technology systems / applications, such as data analytic tools or workflow automation tools.\n\nProficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\n Minimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree required\n\n5 years of experience in related field\n\n3 years of supervisory experience\n\nMust have and preserve required licenses\n\nAbility to manage all aspects of client engagements\n\nDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally\n\nProficient use of applicable technology\n\nMust be able to travel based on client and business
