As part of a small, talented development team, you will help build and expand the batch functionality of the largest equities exchange in Europe. We are firm believers in the value of testable, maintainable code and software craftsmanship; that approach has helped us become the largest equities exchange in Europe and we need another talented individual to help us continue to innovate and lead the market.\nLondon, UK\nIn this role you’ll be responsible for:\nWorking closely with our business development and sales teams to develop innovative new products and features for our exchanges.\nDesigning and building highly reliable, highly testable Python systems to support Cboe Europe’s trading operations.\nParticipate in various R&D projects to identify and implement promising new technologies.\nProviding operational support for Cboe Europe’s trading systems by participating in a production support rota, responding to incidents in line with Cboe’s Incident Management and Response processes, and contributing to post-mortem analyses and follow-up actions.\nParticipate in a global software development team\nThe ideal candidate has:\nSolid Python knowledge\nA commitment to writing testable, maintainable code.\nFamiliarity with more advanced SQL techniques.\nStrong Linux knowledge\nBasic, but broad, knowledge of algorithms and data structures.\nDegree in Computer Science or related field preferred.\nHighly preferred: Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies\nPreferred: Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake\nPreferred: Familiarity with Web Frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI\nPreferred: Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka\nPreferred: Familiarity with data pipeline platforms such as Apache Airflow\nPreferred: Familiarity with Java\nPreferred: Experience in one or more relevant financial areas (market data, order management, algorithmic trading, financial systems integration, compliance, etc.)\nDemonstrable experience with implementing an AI SDLC including practice experience with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or similar\nBenefits and Perks\nWe value the total wellbeing of our people - including health, financial, personal and social wellness.
