The Grant Writer will collaborate closely and frequently with many CCEW staff members.\nApplications will be accepted through October, and we will begin interviews in mid-late October. Start date in November.\nJob Duties/Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this job.\nLead the proposal development process, including collaborating with the Grant Administrator to prepare proposal workspaces in Teams/Sharepoint and creating templates; comprehensively reviewing RFP documents and creating checklists; preparing for and leading grant kickoff meetings; taking and sharing notes with the proposal team, tracking all updates and Q/A documents from the funder; setting up and leading pitch meetings with funders; creating and keeping proposal team members on a production timeline; reviewing all proposal documents for accuracy, correctness, and compliance prior to submission; and gathering all proposal documents; and submitting proposals. \nCollaborating closely, effectively, and professionally with members Senior Leadership Team (executive staff), Leadership Team (VPs and directors), and program staff (managers, coordinators, etc.) to develop high-quality proposal packages. \nDeveloping high-quality funding proposal packages, including but not limited to letters of intent; technical, management, and budget narratives; budget documents; and a wide variety of attachments in the style appropriate for the specific funding source. \nCollaborating as part of the Grants Team and broader Advancement team to support strategic fundraising goals. \nFacilitating and participating in collaborative review processes.\nAs needed, using databases and other methods to research current and prospective funders and funding opportunities to inform grant strategies, records, and materials. \nReviewing and assessing funding opportunities for strategic alignment with organization needs, including participating in developing the annual grants calendar. \nMaintaining a working knowledge of the interests and expectations of public and private funders.\nCommunicating with and developing relationships with funders and updating Grants Team and other organization staff with pertinent information on funders and opportunities. \nConducting independent research to develop application materials.\nDeveloping broad working knowledge of Catholic Charities programming. \nContributing to official Agency grant files.\nWork occasional overtime to meet submission deadlines.\nAttending Catholic Charities events and donor/funder cultivation events as directed.\nUsing appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).\nRegularly utilizing all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.\nAdhering to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.\nPerforming as a team member to assure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.\nPerforming related functions as assigned to support program success and the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.\nJob Qualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.\nEducation/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:\nBachelor’s Degree in English, Technical/Professional Writing, Journalism, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. \nAt least 1 year experience in public relations writing, grant writing, or similar fundraising roles in a nonprofit setting and/or proposal writing for private companies, especially for public funders.
