{"id":2978830,"url":"https://alion.io/job/cci-ammunition-hvac-mechanic","title":"HVAC Mechanic","company":{"id":2080897,"name":"CCI Ammunition","domain":"cci-ammunition.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/cci-ammunition","size_band":"51-200","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"senior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Lewiston, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":59000,"max_usd":116000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":3574},"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-20T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-20","last_verified_at":"2026-10-27T01:41:42Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":7,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":7},"description":"Pay Range:\nStarting Hourly Rate: $46.57The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.\nJob Description\nThe Position\nOur Lewiston, ID location is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to add to our team.\nShift Information: Ability to work any shift including Days, Swing, Weekend Days, and Weekend Swing, 10 and 12 hour shifts.\nResponsibilities\nThis position supports manufacturing operations by installing and repairing industrial and commercial heating and refrigeration, ventilation, and humidification systems, compressors, and vacuum pumps according to blueprints and engineering specifications, using knowledge of heating, refrigeration, structural layout, and function and design components, in a safe and efficient manner.\nHVAC Mechanic - Essential Duties\nDesign, draft, fabricate, assemble, install, test, and maintain refrigeration, heating, ventilation, cooling, humidification, compressor, vacuum pump, and environmental control systems in accordance with blueprints, engineering specifications, and applicable state and local codes. \nDetermine equipment location, size, capacity, control requirements, and component selection needed to meet operational and project requirements. \nInspect and measure facilities to determine airflow requirements and develop ductwork and control system layouts. \nPrepare project estimates, bids, and Appropriation Requests, including labor calculations, material sourcing, vendor quotations, and equipment recommendations. Identify and evaluate new suppliers as needed and provide recommendations to management. \nInstall and connect system components using appropriate piping, tubing, and installation methods based on system design and code requirements.\nPurge, charge, pressurize, and test systems to verify integrity, identify leaks, and ensure proper operation. Compare test results to specifications and make necessary adjustments. \nDrain, recover, and properly dispose of refrigerants and fluids from damaged, removed, or obsolete equipment in accordance with environmental regulations and site policies. \nTroubleshoot, evaluate, repair, and modify existing HVAC and refrigeration systems to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance. \nPerform insulation, welding, brazing, silver soldering, pipe threading, component assembly, and hanger installation using hand and power tools. \nMaintain inventory of parts and supplies, monitor stock levels, and prepare requisitions for replenishment. \nAssist maintenance personnel with equipment moves, welding, carpentry, fabrication, and other maintenance activities as workload permits.\nHVAC Mechanic - Non-Essential Duties\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. \nRespond to emergency maintenance calls outside of normal working hours when available. \nTrain and mentor new employees as assigned. \nPerform other duties as assigned. \n Minimum Qualifications\nAbility to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English. \nAbility to perform advanced mathematical calculations. \nStrong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and housekeeping skills. \nCurrent HVAC Journeyman License (5+ years experience)\nCurrent Idaho Gas Fitter Class I and II License. \nCurrent EPA Refrigerant license (effective 7/92) Type 608 Certification (universal).\nAbility to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of assignment. \nAbility to become qualified to wear and use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). \nDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a strong safety record.\nMust not be a disqualified person under the Gun Control Act or Safe Explosives Act\nAdditional Requirements:\nQualified candidates must be at least 18 years old; able to pass a background check & drug screen\nPhysical Requirements:\nManufacturing environment: Exposure to noise is present and occasionally employees are exposed to dust and fumes. Safety equipment such as protective eyewear and earplugs are required and provided by the company.\nMental Requirements:\nHigh attentiveness for safety and detection of problems.\nInterpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team.\nFlexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously\nWork Environment:\nEmployee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
