This role performs inspections, assigns and prioritizes workloads for Quality Control Inspectors, manages customer deviations, and coordinates external quality-related services. The position supports consistent product quality, timely inspection, and effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders. The Quality Control Lead reports to the Operation Manager(s) for Job Shop and Sub Sea and may have Quality Control Inspectors as direct reports. Reporting relationships may vary based on business and operational needs. \n\nKey Responsibilities \nDuties include, but are not limited to, the following: \nInspect machined parts using appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. \nComplete inspection reports, inspection charts, and related quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner. \nReview inspection results and identify non-conformances, trends, or potential quality concerns. \nDraft, issue, track, and manage deviation requests submitted to customers, including coordination of responses and approvals. \nCommunicate deviation status and requirements to operations, engineering, and customers as required. \nAssign, prioritize, and balance workload for Quality Control Inspector(s) to support production schedules and delivery commitments. \nProvide guidance, technical support, and on-the-job direction to Quality Control Inspector(s). \nCreate purchase orders for required outside services, including third-party inspection, testing, or calibration services, in accordance with Company procedures. \nCoordinate with external vendors to ensure quality services are completed as required. \nEnsure inspection and quality activities comply with Company quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable ISO standards. \nSupport internal and external audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. \nCooperate with safety, quality, and compliance initiatives as directed. \nPerform related duties as assigned to support quality control and operational objectives. \n\nChange Management & Documentation \nFollow established procedures when making system changes to ensure all changes are reviewed, approved, documented, and auditable \nMaintain accurate, current, and complete documentation of systems, configurations, processes, and dependencies \nCreate purchase orders and coordinate outside services in accordance with Company procedures. This role does not independently approve pricing, contracts, or purchasing commitments. Financial, contractual, and scheduling decisions require approval by authorized management in accordance with Company policy. \nQualifications & Experience \n\nRequired: \nExperience inspecting machined components and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. \n\nPreferred: \nPost-secondary education or equivalent experience in Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field. \nExperience working in an ISO-certified or quality-controlled manufacturing environment. \nPrior experience leading or directing QC staff. \n\nKey Competencies \nStrong understanding of inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality control processes. \nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications. \nStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. \nEffective organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing correspondence. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office and quality record systems. \n\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements \nAbility to sit and stand for extended periods. \nAbility to walk through manufacturing areas and access production workspaces. \nAbility to use hands and fingers for computer work, document handling, and filing. \nAbility to lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 45 pounds on an occasional basis. \nAbility to read printed materials, technical documents, and computer screens. \nWork is performed primarily in an office and manufacturing environment. \nExposure to variable temperatures, noise levels, dust, or industrial conditions may occur. \nOccasional outdoor exposure may be required. \nWork schedules may vary based on operational demands; occasional extended hours may be required to meet business needs. \n\nHealth, Safety & Quality \nThe Quality Control Lead is required to comply with company health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements to support product integrity and workplace safety.
