This role is responsible for the engineering, design, project management, and successful execution of oil and gas infrastructure projects, ranging from pipeline systems and integrity-driven upgrades to greenfield and brownfield facilities.\n\nThe successful candidate will provide technical leadership and project delivery expertise throughout all phases of project development, including opportunity identification, feasibility studies, conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support, construction management, commissioning, and start-up. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, regulators, contractors, and operations personnel to deliver safe, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose solutions.\n\nIn addition to technical and project execution responsibilities, the successful candidate will contribute to business development activities through client relationship management, proposal development, scope definition, cost estimating, strategic planning, and identification of growth opportunities within existing and emerging markets.\n\nThis position is ideally suited for an engineer with strong experience in pipeline systems, including liquid and gas pipeline design, pipeline integrity and maintenance projects, process facilities, and related energy infrastructure. The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, project management capability, and commercial awareness to support both project success and long-term client development.\n\nLocation: \n\nCalgary or Edmonton, Alberta\n\nThis position is primarily office-based with periodic travel to client sites throughout Western Canada for field investigations, design reviews, commissioning, start-up support, and construction activities.\n\nJob Highlights: \n\nThis is an intermediate level position, and the incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pipeline & Facilities Manager and Engineering Team. \n\nTechnical Engineering & Design\nLead and execute pipeline engineering projects from concept selection through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up.\nDevelop, review, and approve engineering deliverables.\nPerform engineering analysis and design for:\nOil and gas pipeline systems\nPipeline integrity, repair, and replacement projects\nPressure control and overpressure protection systems\nSupport route evaluation, constructability assessments, material selection, and system optimization studies.\nParticipate in constructability reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and management of change activities.\nProvide technical support during procurement, construction, hydrotesting, commissioning, start-up, and operational troubleshooting activities.\nConduct site visits for information gathering, field verification, as-building, and construction support activities.\n\nProject Management & Delivery\nManage and coordinate engineering projects through all phases of execution while maintaining alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering resources.\nPrepare and review project execution deliverables including:\nProject scopes of work\nCost estimates and quantity take-offs\nProject schedules\nBid packages and technical requisitions\nTechnical bid evaluations\nCapital cost and construction estimates\nCoordinate internal resources, subcontractors, vendors, and contractors to support successful project delivery.\nParticipate in client meetings, progress reviews, and technical workshops while serving as a key point of contact throughout project execution.\nEnsure project deliverables are completed in accordance with company quality standards and client expectations.\n\nLeadership, Business Development & Continuous Improvement\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to EITs, designers, and junior engineers.\nConduct technical reviews and quality control checks of engineering deliverables.\nSupport the development and standardization of engineering procedures, templates, tools, and best practices to improve project execution efficiency.\nAssist with preparation of proposals, studies, work plans, and engineering estimates for prospective projects.\nContribute to business development initiatives through client engagement, relationship management, and identification of new opportunities.\nMaintain ongoing communication with the Pipeline & Facilities Manager and Engineering Team to support effective department operations and resource planning.\n\nAccountabilities\nDeliver safe, practical, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for pipeline projects.\nEnsure compliance with applicable regulations, client specifications, CSA, ASME, and industry standards.\nMaintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, regulators, and project team members.\nAchieve project objectives related to quality, cost, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the long-term growth and success of the Pipeline & Facilities group.\nChampion technical excellence, project execution best practices, and strong client service throughout all phases of project delivery.\n\nBenefits:\nCCI has an industry competitive, extended health and benefits plan.\nRRSP with company match\nHealth and wellness spending account\nCCI supports our employees with professional training and development opportunities and payment of professional dues.\nCCI pays for all travel and accommodations, including per-diem, while away from home\nFlexible work environment with opportunities to advance your career within CCI’s Group of Companies.\n\nThis position requires a self-motivated, safety conscious individual who takes great pride in their work.
