This field-based position will support silviculture surveys and related forestry programs throughout the B.C. Interior.\nJob Highlights\nGeoterra has an industry-leading, extended health and benefits plan.\nCompany RRSP matching program.\nHealth spending accounts.\nGeoterra supports our employees with professional development opportunities and payment of professional dues.\nThis position involves significant fieldwork in remote forest environments; regular travel is expected.\nGeoterra pays for all travel and accommodations, including per-diem while away from home.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nComplete regeneration delay, stocking, free-growing, and other silviculture surveys in accordance with current B.C. procedures and project requirements.\nCollect accurate field data, assess forest health and site factors, and confirm survey-unit stratification.\nCompile survey results, prepare maps and field documentation, and support clear, defensible recommendations.\nPerform quality assurance on survey data and deliverables before submission.\nCoordinate with project managers, clients, and field crews while meeting safety, schedule, and quality expectations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAccredited Silviculture Surveyor designation in British Columbia is preferred; candidates working toward accreditation may be considered.\nAt least one field season of experience completing regeneration delay, stocking, or free-growing surveys is preferred.\nKnowledge of B.C. silviculture survey procedures, stocking standards, forest health, and applicable forestry practices.\nExperience collecting, compiling, and quality-checking field data using GPS, tablets, GIS applications, and forestry software.\nValid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to work safely and independently in remote terrain.\nStrong navigation, observation, communication, organization, and report-writing skills.\n\nCompensation\n$25-$30 per hr. plus overtime at time and a half.\n\nGeoterra prides itself on offering a positive working environment with opportunities for staff to grow and become an integral part of our forestry services team.
