Reporting to the Trenchless Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for leading the successful execution of trenchless engineering projects from proposal through final delivery. \n\nThe successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate engineering and technical resources, oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements, and maintain strong client relationships throughout project execution. This role combines technical engineering expertise with project leadership and provides an opportunity to work on a diverse range of trenchless projects throughout North America.\n\nAccountabilities:\nManage trenchless engineering projects through all phases of execution, including scope development, planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and project closeout.\nDevelop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements while ensuring project milestones, deliverables, quality objectives, and client expectations are achieved.\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, EITs, drafters, technical specialists, and support staff to successfully execute project deliverables.\nMonitor project performance and provide regular updates regarding project status, financial performance, resource requirements, project risks, technical challenges, and client interactions.\nWork closely with Project Controls to manage project financial performance, including cost reporting, forecasting, invoicing support, change orders, and scope management.\nEnsure all work is completed in accordance with CCI quality management procedures, client requirements, applicable regulations, industry standards, and best practices.\nSupport and contribute to technical project deliverables including feasibility assessments, route evaluations, trenchless crossing recommendations, engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, design drawings, cost estimates, and construction support documentation.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors while supporting business development, presentations, and identification of new opportunities.\nProvide mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development support to junior engineers, EITs, and technical staff.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including project delivery processes, technical standards, templates, lessons learned, and departmental best practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Civil, Geotechnical, or Mechanical preferred).\nRegistered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or another Canadian provincial engineering association (additional P.Eng. registrations considered an asset).\nMinimum 4 years of engineering experience related to trenchless, pipeline, utility, or linear infrastructure projects; construction and/or field experience is considered an asset.\nStrong technical understanding of trenchless technologies, pipeline systems, and utility construction methods.\nExperience preparing design documentation, hydraulic fracture assessments, trenchless design calculations, and crossing feasibility evaluations.\nProficiency with AutoCAD and experience reviewing, interpreting, and coordinating engineering drawing packages, including plan and profile drawings, utility crossing drawings, and construction documentation.\nExperience managing small to mid-sized engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.\nExperience with Direct Pipe®, tunnelling, microtunnelling, auger bore, or other advanced trenchless construction methods is required.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to evaluate technical information and develop practical solutions.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.\nExcellent organizational, communication, and technical report-writing skills.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.\nDemonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to assume increasing responsibilities.\nStrong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development.\n\nBenefits:\nCCI offers industry-competitive extended health benefits and RRSP plans;\nCCI supports our employees with professional development opportunities and payment of professional dues;
