The SLP functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to determine a student’s eligibility for school-based speech and language therapy services as well as appropriate programming recommendations. The SLP works directly with students, faculty, parents, and administration. The SLP delivers services and implements all procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and school policies and procedures and utilizes practices that are evidence based.\nRequirements\nEDUCATION:\n Valid PDE certification as a Speech & Language Therapist\n Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders\n Certificate of Clinical Competence - preferred\n Clinical Fellowship year considered\n CREDENTIALS:\n(Clearances current within 12 months)\n PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance\n PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance\n PA Department of Education FBI -- Use code 1KG6XN \n TB Screening -- current within 3 months\n Education Documentation - diploma OR official transcripts from graduate program\n Professional Liability Insurance\n PDE Certification as a Speech & Language Pathologist / Therapist \n Benefits\nThe school-based Speech and Language Therapist / Pathologist / SLP position is an independent contract (1099) position.
