Working to procedures, taking safety seriously, and understanding the impact of your work is critical. A data centre applies those same principles to power, cooling, fire systems and monitoring, all operating continuously. The difference is the environment, the scale, and the opportunity to apply your skills in a stable, growing industry.\nData centre experience isn’t required. We welcome people from a range of hands-on technical backgrounds and provide training and support to help you apply your existing skills in a more operational, monitoring-focused environment.\nWhat you’ll be doing day-to-day:\nMonitoring and responding to alarms and alerts across power, cooling, and fire systems\nPerforming physical inspections to ensure equipment and infrastructure are operating within defined parameters\nResponding to faults and incidents, prioritising actions, and determining when escalation or contractor support is required\nCarrying out operational switching and control activities to prevent unplanned outages\nSupporting planned maintenance and monitoring contractors on site, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and approved methods of operation\nDocumenting incidents, maintenance activities, and observations to support continuous improvement\nThis role works on a rotating 24/7 shift roster (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) and suits individuals who are comfortable making decisions, following defined processes, and working calmly in high-reliability environments.\nBenefits, Training and Offerings:\nOur training program provides tailored content through our CDC Academy, specifically designed for individuals starting out in this role. CDC hosts BBQs, family picnics and community events, bringing together CDC staff in different settings.\nAbout You and Requirements for the Role:\nYou have experience working in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or other critical infrastructure environments where safety, reliability, and process are critical.\nFor those currently on the tools, this role represents a move into data centre operations.
