About the Role:

As the Mechanical Procurement Manager, you will lead the procurement and commercial management of critical mechanical infrastructure supporting CDC's industry-leading data centre developments across Australia and New Zealand. You will be responsible for driving procurement strategies, managing key supplier and contractor relationships, and leading a team of Technical Commercial specialists focused on delivering best-in-class commercial outcomes across major capital projects. Working closely with Engineering, Design, Delivery and Commercial teams, you will play a key role in securing critical mechanical equipment, services and supply chain capacity to support CDC's growing development pipeline.

  • Lead and develop a small team responsible for the procurement and commercial management of mechanical equipment, materials and services.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that support project delivery, commercial outcomes and long-term operational requirements.
  • Support with tendering, supplier engagement, evaluation and contract negotiation activities.
  • Partner with engineering, design and project delivery teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and technical requirements.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and contractors to secure supply chain capacity and drive performance.
  • Provide commercial leadership and recommendations on major procurement decisions, supplier selections and contract outcomes.
  • Identify and manage procurement, commercial and supply chain risks across key project packages.

About You:

You are a commercially minded procurement leader with experience delivering complex mechanical, building services, infrastructure or industrial projects. You combine strong technical understanding with commercial acumen and are confident managing supplier relationships, negotiating major contracts and influencing key stakeholders. You thrive in fast-paced project environments and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver practical, commercially sound outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, commercial management, strategic sourcing or supply chain leadership within mechanical services, construction, data centres or major capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment and contractor markets.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex tendering, sourcing and contract negotiation activities.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence technical, commercial and project stakeholders.
  • Experience managing high-value supplier and contractor relationships and driving performance outcomes.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance cost, risk, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Previous leadership experience managing and developing procurement, commercial or project teams.

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
