The candidate must have the ability to embrace a team environment with a willingness to support team members. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities and reporting requirements and works very closely with the Finance department. The Children’s Services Finance Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties and broad range of responsibilities:\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION\n\nAnalyze, interpret, and apply Ministry guidelines\n\nCalculate service provider funding amounts for annual operating service contracts\n\nReview monthly attendance-based service provider funding amounts\n\nSupervise and review daily and monthly OCCMS fee subsidy service provider payment calculations and processes\n\nReview monthly accounts receivable invoices for CDSB Children’s Services’ Northern Treasures Home Childcare Agency\n\nMaintain Childcare provider budget templates and annual information return templates\n\nPerform on-site compliance audits of Childcare and EarlyON providers\n\nAssist and guide providers in preparing their annual budgets and financial statements\n\nReview and analyze the providers’ submitted budgets, financial statements, attendance information, and other data analysis\n\nReview year-end financial reconciliations for service providers\n\nParticipate in internal and external reporting and reconciliations.\n\nAssist with ensuring that providers are meeting the requirements of their annual service agreements\n\nCompile data and supporting documentation for reporting purposes\n\nAudit internal processes within the Children’s Services department\n\nSupervise Child Care Coordinators\n\nParticipate in the motivating, training and development of staff\n\nAssist in scheduling staff and provide guidance and instructions to supervised staff\n\nProvide internal client services to peers / co-workers throughout the organization\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nCORE COMPETENCIES\n\nWritten and Oral Communication: Listens, presents ideas clearly, and maintains open communication.
