The purpose of this role is to develop business software solutions for complex and large-scale projects through object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance, and implementation support. The SR Software Engineer II participates in application standards development and serves as an evangelist for best practices. \n\nWhat you will do: \n\nPerform all stages of the software development life cycle, self-manage activities on smaller projects and serve as technical lead on small, medium and large projects.  \n\nDetermine operating requirements, costs, as well as resource needs for assigned projects and work in conjunction with a project manager on initiatives.  \n\nCo-lead with Project Manager employing object-oriented analysis and design techniques including use case analysis, object modeling, and database schema design to ensure business requirements and design goals are met.  \n\nParticipate in application architecture planning (including system partitioning and framework design) to determine optimal solution architecture, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability  \n\nLead / develop: High-level system narratives, storyboards, and user interface prototypes.  \n\nLead / develop: Detailed design specifications for hardware and software use by the technical team.  \n\nLead / develop: System test plans, ensure software quality assurance (SQA) standards are achieved, and validate that business goals are accomplished.  \n\nLead / develop: Detailed estimates for projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget.  \n\nDevelop applications to CDW coding standards and quality.  \n\nIdentify issues that require more attention, and work to resolve issues based on an understanding of the business problem being solved.  \n\nMake technical decisions to meet the design goals laid out in product road map and by management  \n\nCoach, mentor and monitor progress of jr. members, mentor & coach  \n\nDraw appropriate resources together to address technical issues.  \n\nDirect and focus the efforts of the technical project team.  \n\nComplete projects/tasks on a timely basis, according to commitments made to stakeholders and management.  \n\nReport project/task status to the management.  \n\nCollaborate with business and project teams to gather requirements and business needs.  \n\nMake technical decisions to meet the design goals laid out in product road map and by management.  \n\nIdentify issues that require more attention, and work to resolve issues based on an understanding of the business problem being solved.  \n\nDraw appropriate resources together to address technical issues.  \n\nDirect and focus the efforts of the technical project team.  \n\nMonitor progress of project teams.  \n\nMentor and coach junior team members.  \n\nComplete projects/tasks on a timely basis, according to commitments made to stakeholders and management. Report project/task status to the management.  \n\nStep in as team member throughout the software development process as needed  \n\nWhat we expect of you: \n\nBachelor’s degree and 7 years software development experience, or 11 years software development experience  \n\nExpertise in developing applications. \n\nDemonstrated ability to coach and mentor others. \n\nAbility to multi-task and prioritize. \n\nAdvanced knowledge of product lifecycle and understanding of the role of methodology/frameworks. \n\nDeliver solutions in Agile methodology in CI/CD environment. \n\nAdvanced knowledge of object-oriented design and programming techniques. \n\nDemonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain productive working relationships cross-departmentally and cross-functionally. \n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders including senior leadership. \n\nStrong organizational, planning and creative problem solving-skills with critical attention to detail. \n\nDemonstrated success of facilitation and solutions implementation. \n\nProven track record of leading application development projects. \n\nHistory of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. \n\nExpertise in creating applications using technologies such as C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET MVC, RESTful Web Services, SQL Server. \n\nAbility to perform effective code reviews and recommend automated review tools for the team. \n\nExpertise in MongoDB, a plus. \n\nExpertise in Azure DevOps, a plus. \n\nExperience with SOLR and/or Elastic Search, Python, Spark, a plus. \n\nKnowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, logistic regression) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks, a plus. \n\nExperience in Linux & Windows platform, a plus. \n\nWorking Experience with Azure/Kubernetes, a plus. \n\nAbility to think through performance requirements for a system and lead optimizing/tuning, a plus. \n\nPay range: $121,000 - $190,600 depending on experience and skill set \nAnnual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan \nBenefits overview: \nSalary ranges may be subject to geographic differentials \nCDW is committed to being an AI-fluent organization\nWe’re looking for people who bring curiosity, a learner’s mindset, and a willingness to engage with ever-evolving technology and tools.
