You'll use routing technology and your knowledge of transportation operations to help keep our drivers moving safely, efficiently and on schedule.\nThis position works Sunday through Thursday, with Sunday being a half-day. Monday through Thursday are full days, with occasional overtime as needed.\nIf you enjoy transportation, working with drivers, solving problems and figuring out how to make a route work better, this could be a great fit.\nWhy You'll Like Working Here\nSunday-Thursday schedule\nSunday is a half-day\nCompetitive pay based on experience\nWork with an experienced transportation team\nUse industry-leading routing and transportation technology\nBe part of a company-owned delivery fleet\nMedical, dental and vision insurance effective the first of the month following your date of hire\nCompany-paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability\nCompany-paid Basic Life Insurance\n401(k) with company match\nPaid time off and holidays\nStable, family-owned company with a long-standing presence in West Michigan\nWhat You'll Do\nPlan & Optimize Routes\nBuild and adjust daily delivery routes using Roadnet and other transportation technology\nBalance delivery windows, driver hours, route efficiency, vehicle capacity and customer needs\nReview routes and make adjustments to improve efficiency and on-time performance\nHelp plan upcoming routes and prepare for changes in volume, staffing and customer needs\nWork With Drivers\nAssign routes and daily work to drivers\nCommunicate route information, changes and updates throughout the day\nMonitor driver progress and help resolve delays, route issues or unexpected changes\nServe as a go-to resource for drivers when they need help with a route or delivery\nSolve Problems\nRespond quickly to route disruptions, vehicle issues, customer changes and other transportation challenges\nWork with Transportation, Warehouse and Customer Service teams to keep deliveries moving\nIdentify recurring issues and help develop practical solutions\nMonitor Performance\nTrack route and delivery performance, including on-time service, route hours and efficiency\nReview transportation data and identify opportunities to improve routes and operations\nHelp maintain accurate transportation records and reports\nSupport Safe & Compliant Operations\nHelp ensure routes and driver schedules comply with DOT requirements and hours-of-service regulations\nMonitor transportation systems, including ELD and GPS information\nSupport a culture of safe and responsible driving\nWhat We're Looking For\n2+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, routing, logistics or a related field\nStrong computer skills and ability to learn transportation software quickly\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills\nExcellent communication skills, particularly when working with drivers and operations teams\nAbility to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to make decisions quickly when plans change\nComfortable working with data and using it to identify problems and opportunities\nExperience That Will Help You Succeed\nPrevious experience using Roadnet or similar route optimization software\n2+ years of experience as a route delivery driver\nPrevious dispatch or fleet coordination experience\nExperience with Samsara, ELD or GPS systems\nKnowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements\nExperience working in food distribution, transportation or warehouse operations\nWhat the Workday Looks Like\nThis is primarily an office-based role, but you'll be closely connected to the operation.
