The core vision of the organisation is to provide world class specialist healthcare services to patients in Nigeria and the West African sub region.\n\nCedarcrest Hospitals Ltd currently has four hospitals located in Abuja, Lagos, Kainji and Jebba having over one hundred (100) bed capacity without patient camps in several other cities across Nigeria. Our services and facilities span several specialities and include emergency / trauma centre, radiology diagnostic centre, prosthetic manufacturing plant, oxygen manufacturing plant, modular surgical operating theatres, gastrointestinal endoscopy suite and several other facilities that make for a modern multispecialty hospital.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Engineering Project Manager\n\nLocation: Abuja\n\nJob type: Full-time\n\nPurpose of the Role\n\nTo plan, execute, and deliver engineering and capital projects across Cedarcrest Hospitals Ltd. — including medical equipment installations, facility upgrades, new-build works, and plant/system replacements — on time, within budget, and in full compliance with healthcare regulatory, safety, and quality standards, while minimizing disruption to clinical services and hospital operations.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProject Delivery:\n\nDevelop and maintain project charters, scope documents, work breakdown structures, Gantt schedules, and resource plans.\nChair project review meetings and produce progress reports for the leadership team.\nManage the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure) for engineering projects ranging from equipment installation to major infrastructure works.\nCoordinate with hospital departments, including clinical departments, procurement, finance, IT, and infection prevention & control to ensure projects meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.\nStakeholder & Contractor Management\nProcure and manage external consultants, architects, contractors, and vendors — including tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance management.\n\nCompliance, Safety & Quality:\n\nEnsure all works comply with applicable building codes, healthcare facility standards (infection control, medical gas systems, electrical safety), fire safety, and environmental requirements.\nEnforce permit-to-work, isolation, and downtime procedures to safeguard patient safety and continuity of clinical services during works.\n\nQualifications and Experience \n\nProven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage contractors; excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication; ability to liaise credibly with clinicians, executives, regulators, and tradespeople\nMembership of a recognised professional engineering body (e.g., COREN, ASME, CIBSE)\n5+ years managing engineering/construction projects, of which at least 2 years in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment\nValid driver's licence;
