This role is responsible for maintaining the proper coverage for the area of responsibility. As directed by leadership, the Operations Supervisor must satisfy the requirements of the Medical Center. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the organization of work, customer satisfaction, supervision of employees, staff development, process improvement and problem solving in the delivery of services. Effectively interact with customers with diverse cultural backgrounds.\nPrincipal Responsibilities:\nSupervises and supports required maintenance or construction. Maintains the proper coverage for the area of responsibility.\nPlans and assigns work to staff, following-up on work completion and productivity issues.\nFacilitates the continuing training of the staff as required by regulatory agencies and as needed to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.\nPrimarily responsible for the twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations of assigned facilities at various locations on-site or off-site and occasional back-up responsibility for management when not on-site.\nEnsures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. Maintains staff compliance with medical center policies, procedures and protocols.\nWorks collaboratively with various departments including Environmental Health and Safety, Comparative Medicine, Sponsored Research & Funds Administration and Plant Operations to ensure regulatory compliance for audits, city inspections, and medical center requirements.\nCollaborates with management in cross-functional process improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to ensure the effective coordination and integration of services within and between units.\nReports and escalates operational challenges to management to ensure timely resolution and minimize adverse customer tensions.\nParticipates on committees such as department Policies and Procedures, Job Descriptions, Construction, and Hazardous Waste.\n Education:\nHigh School Diploma/GED - Required\nAssoc. Degree/College Diploma, Engineering or other related field - Preferred\nBachelor's Degree, Engineering or other related field -Preferred\nWork Experience:\n5 years of direct experience with the trade work of the area of responsibility in a healthcare facility. Specific knowledge/experience/skills of building system operations and maintenance.
