The role provides technical mentorship and performs the engineering activities required to build, support, automate, and continuously improve a large, sophisticated on-premises and cloud-based computing environment. The Senior Engineer applies standard methodologies for enterprise management, architecture, configuration, disaster recovery, administration, automation, incident management, and operational support.\nInvestigate complex system-level early-design engineering proofs of concept and prototypes.\nProvision, configure, and maintain cloud resources, including service instances, load balancers, security groups, DNS, certificates, and related services.\nPerform cloud computing environment buildouts, site setup, user training, hardware and software installation, maintenance, support, and documentation of operating procedures and processes.\nDesign, configure, implement, and support automated workflows for Windows Server provisioning and post-build configuration, including PowerShell and Desired State Configuration (DSC).\nDevelop, test, document, and maintain automation scripts and processes that improve consistency, security, and operational efficiency across the data center.\nDevelop and design high-availability solutions and standards. Build and design solutions that mitigate risk and increase efficiency within IT.\nEvaluate and certify hardware platforms for use in a data center environment. Cisco UCS experience is preferred.\nProvide advanced technical support and L3 troubleshooting.\nParticipate in incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution.\nServe as a senior escalation point for critical incidents, including P1 support.\nCoordinate with operations, vendors, and manufacturers to restore service and communicate status through resolution.\nAssist with the development and testing of changes needed to maintain the disaster recovery environment.\nDesign and implement event automation and event-driven operational workflows to detect, correlate, notify, and remediate infrastructure events.\nPlan and execute Windows Server end-of-life refreshes, including discovery, compatibility assessment, migration or replacement planning, implementation, validation, documentation, and retirement of legacy systems.\nLead or contribute to server builds and infrastructure architecture, including requirements gathering, standards, capacity planning, high availability, security, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management.\nProvide on-call or after-hours support as required for critical infrastructure incidents and P1 response.\n\nHybrid Remote: Must currently live in the Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area to meet onsite requirements.\n Experience Requirements:\nFive (5) or more years of experience as a Windows Server or Systems Engineer in a complex, multi-platform, multi-protocol enterprise environment.\nHands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems, including pre-build planning, server builds, post-build configuration, workload provisioning, and lifecycle refreshes.\nExperience with operating system automation, PowerShell, Desired State Configuration (DSC), event automation, and infrastructure-as-code or configuration-management practices.\nExperience supporting incident management processes, critical incidents, P1 response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and service restoration in an enterprise environment.\nExperience designing or implementing server architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure infrastructure standards.\nSolid grasp of server and systems monitoring, analysis, management, configuration, event management, and automation tools.\nDeep hands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems, including pre- and post-installation configuration, workload provisioning, server builds, and technical cloud architecture.\nExperience with backup client/server software.\nExperience with cluster and high-availability software.\nExperience with remote server builds and infrastructure deployment.\nSolid grasp of converged and hyper converged technologies.\nIT security experience and the ability to plan, implement, and administer Windows-based IT systems in accordance with security and operational standards.\nFamiliarity with Java and middleware products.
