This role focuses on the critical construction startup and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, demanding strong coordination with subcontractors, proactive issue resolution, and unwavering commitment to quality.\nResponsibilities:\nSafety:\nImplement and enforce site-specific and OSHA safety standards for all MEP activities, fostering a safe and compliant work environment.\nConduct regular safety inspections and ensure all personnel adhere to safety protocols.\nSubcontractor Management:\nLead and oversee MEP trade subcontractors, ensuring optimal manpower levels, efficient work sequencing, and strict adherence to project specifications and schedules.\nCoordinate material and equipment deliveries with subcontractors and vendors.\nTechnical Oversight:\nReview mechanical and electrical submittals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and design documents.\nIdentify and resolve field installation issues promptly, minimizing disruptions while maintaining quality and schedule compliance.\nOrganize and conduct project meetings for critical MEP activities.\nWork collaboratively with subcontractors and the design team to provide effective conflict resolution for MEP issues.\nCoordinate and manage the quality control process for MEP systems construction.\nPreconstruction:\nAssist in the bidding process for mechanical and electrical trades.\nManage the equipment procurement process, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.\nTrack and coordinate equipment deliveries.\nCommissioning:\nManage startup and functional testing of mechanical and electrical systems.\nCoordinate and support third-party commissioning activities.\nManage commissioning documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. \nClient Relations:\nCultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.\nBasic Qualifications:\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n4 years’ experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction.\n3 years combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning. \nProven experience with OSHA safety standards and construction regulations.\nProficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore) and digital reporting platforms.\nStrong communication skills (verbal and written).\nStrong leadership skills and the ability to build and lead a team.\nCapable of coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.\nAptitude for problem-solving and the ability to work independently.\nMotivated self-starter.\nPreconstruction/Equipment Procurement experience.\nWillingness to travel - this role requires you to be on site at the client location\nLOCATION: Long term project in Washington DC. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee is at risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
