Reporting to a Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will carry out electrical assembly, wiring and fault-finding on switchgear and critical power equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety, meeting specified targets and reporting all issues as required by CEL. Full training will be provided to allow progression within the role.\nMain Duties\nComply with CEL's Environmental, Health and Safety procedures at all times, including safe use of hand tools and electrical instrumentation.\nPerform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting and moving components (up to 23 kg).\nRead and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and general assembly drawings to build switchgear panels and sub-assemblies.\nCarry out wiring, cable termination, cable stripping and labelling in accordance with wiring regulations and company standards.\nAssemble and install electrical sub-assemblies including wire harnesses, panel plates, control circuits and busbar/copper assemblies.\nIdentify, diagnose and rectify electrical faults, non-conformances or build issues, escalating to the Supervisor or QA team where required.\nFollow all company Quality Control procedures and work instructions, completing tasks to defined build quality, torque, alignment and finish standards.\nMaintain a right-first-time mindset to reduce rework and defects.\nMaintain a clean, organised and audit-ready workstation, ensuring scrap and waste materials are stored safely prior to collection.\nSupport the wrapping and preparation of finished products for shipment.\nAssist in other departments as required, and undertake any other duties within associated departments as requested by the Production Supervisor.\nRequirements\nExperience / Skills Required\nProven experience in an electrical assembly, panel building, or switchgear manufacturing environment.\nStrong working knowledge of electrical wiring practices and fault-finding techniques.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.\nStrong EHS and housekeeping awareness.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nWell-organised, self-motivated and able to multi-task.\nWillingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.\nComfortable working in a physically active role (standing, bending, lifting).","description_format":"text","description_chars":2796,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Annual leave"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Hardware","Health Care","Science & Engineering"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-11T08:51:34Z"}],"liveness":{"score":80,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.801,"p_room":1,"age_days":34,"expected_fill_days":116,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":42000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/cel-criticalpower-electrical-technician","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/cel-criticalpower-electrical-technician.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-25T02:18:01Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2419,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2581,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-26T00:00:00Z"}}}
