The Technician is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.\nAt this position level:\nMaintains and repairs non-technical facility components\nDemonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or may be enrolled to complete a trades certification or license\nKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms work in accordance to established processes and practices\nComplies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection\nPerforms regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection\nProvides observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair.\nMonitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection\nResponds to routine and on-demand service requests\nPerforms preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.\nRecords resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements\nReceives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required\nAssists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained.\nParticipates in and assists with facility-related projects.\nEnsures the manner in which work is performed is in compliant with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.\nMaintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required\nSubmits all expenditures on a timely basis\nAssists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWork Requirements\nMust be willing to wear personal protective equipment\nMINIMUM EDUCATION: High school education\nJOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1-3 years\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\nMinimum 1-3 years facility operations and maintenance work experience\nHigh school diploma \nTrade related training an asset\nAbility to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance\nAbility to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility components\nAbility to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair\nAbility to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job - fire, life, safety and building codes and standards\nPossesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner\nStrong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency\nEffective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification\nThis is a regular, full-time position with a hourly range of $35-$38 per hour.
