May demonstrate work methods to new employees.\nDeals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation in a problem solving capacity; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nProvides complex technical support for printed circuit boards, subassemblies, production equipment or other related company products.\nSets up, and performs new, unusual, or involved tests, procedures, experiments, simulations, or changes.\nReads and analyzes schematic diagrams, circuit descriptions and similar technical information.\nSets up, operates, and adjusts test sets and auxiliary equipment.\nProves tests and test sets.\nAssists in the designs for, and performs the debug of test fixtures, test cables and other test equipment.\nDesigns and lays out circuitry for test fixtures to interface products to bench testing and specialized automated test equipment.\nUpdates test bed software.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nEngineering Foundation Competencies\nKnowledge of electrical, electromechanical and pneumatic systems and principals of operation.\nStrong knowledge of the setup, operation, and maintenance of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication procedures.\nStrong knowledge of electronic circuitry and testing and debugging procedures.\nKnowledge of computer programming and ability to use applications specific to this position, such as C++, ECAD, MCAD, etc.\nAbility to read and interpret product specifications, schematics and mechanical drawings.\nAbility to use hand and power tools required for test assembly.\nIn-depth knowledge of mechanical measurement, calibration and test equipment, their uses and applications.\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes.\nAbility to analyze equipment and systems, troubleshoot problems and make appropriate repairs.\nKnowledge of digital electronics and repair methodologies.\nKnowledge of personal computers and Windows applications.\nExcellent knowledge of quality standards.\nAbility to effectively communicate with a variety of internal customers.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.\nDuties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.\nDuties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.\nDuties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over 20 pounds.\nTypical Experience\nFour to five years of experience\nTypical Education\nHigh school diploma and additional courses after high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
