Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation in a problem solving capacity; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nPerforms manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.\nIn addition will perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs and first line preventative maintenance.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nMust possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.\nIn-depth knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.\nIn-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.\nAbility to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.\nAbility to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.\nAbility to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.\nAbility to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.\nKnowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.\nKnowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.\nMore advanced manufacturing systems knowledge\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.\nDuties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye co-ordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.\nDuties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over.\nDuties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.\nAbove demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.\nTypical Experience\nFour to five years of relevant experience.\nTypical Education\nHigh school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further / additional education.\nEducational Requirements may vary by geography\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
