Tasks are very complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work. Builds internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing some explanations in a problem solving capacity.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nAssists the Associate Planners in releasing shop orders, checking for parts, tracking builds, ensuring timely shipment and working with manufacturing on issues.\nMaintains responsibility for data integrity, ensuring shop orders get closed, and ensuring customer commits are met.\nPerforms materials requirements planning for lower value components.\nEnsures planning parameters are set correctly, and the MRP is ordering required parts.\nManages smaller planning project (i.e. Field Replacement Units) including customer interface, ensuring cards are sorted and tested, and shipments are coordination.\nMay also include planning for test capacity, sort capacity, and on time delivery.\nMaintains responsibility for creating/updating various customer order sets/reports, spreadsheets, sending out reports to customers, and maintaining these reports.\nCreates part shorts reports for planners. Initiates cycle counts for resetting inventory records.\nCoordinates and schedules production lines according to customer requirements, tracks efficiency and acts as interface with Manufacturing.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nBasic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, materials requirements planning techniques and manufacturing control systems\nKnowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.\nKnowledge of basic computer applications and the ability to learn and use applications specific to this department.\nBasic math, data entry and 10-key skills.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.\nAbility to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.\nAbility to efficiently organize, file and retrieve hard copy and electronic information relating to the business of the work unit.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.\nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nTypical Experience\nFour to six years of relevant experience\nTypical Education\nAdditional courses after High School, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational requirements may vary by geography.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
