Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.\nDetailed Description\nSpecialist level position for engineers who provide engineering support in these areas. Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nCoordinates facility expansion, retrofit projects, and vendor activities to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with capital expenditure budgets.\n\nPreferred experience: 3-5 years leading CAPEX projects in continuous-manufacturing or data center facilities, focusing on mission-critical MEP infrastructure installation and commissioning.\n\nSmall construction project experience.\n\nResponsible for the production of site utilities (gas, water, electricity) to produce steam, chilled water, de-ionized water, and compressed air for manufacturing.\n\nEnsures facility is always in compliance with all local and government regulations.\n\nProvides technical direction to facilities staff and directs same in non-routine work as applicable.\n\nWorks with management and technical staff to formulate plans on equipment placement and replacement as necessary.\n\nCoordinates contract services, inspections, and audits as necessary.\n\nManages multiple projects varying in complexity using solid project management skills and tools.\n\nDrives the supplier/contractor selection process and ensures that all orders/requisitions are placed with all necessary drawings, specifications, and documentation.\n\nMonitors and reports progress status of projects along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, and worksite appearance to site management team and evaluates contractors on these aspects.\n\nEnsures compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.\n\nManages and directs EHS functions such as: occupational health, claims management, industrial hygiene, safety, hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, and ergonomics.\n\nEnsures compliance with applicable government EHS regulations and develops new programs to meet new/revised regulations.\n\nCollaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed and existing processes and equipment and making recommendations.\n\nPerforms periodic reviews of EHS programs and initiatives to identify and control risks.\n\nEnsures compliance with ISO 50001:2011 - Energy Management System Standards.\n\nResponsible for the design, deployment, implementation, and support of Celestica's Energy Management.\n\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nEngineering Foundation Competencies:\n\nRelevant project management and CAPEX experience\n\nKnowledge of Industrial Engineering standards.\n\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. \nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nTypical Experience\nThree to six years of relevant experience\nTypical Education\nBachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. \nEducational requirements may vary by geography.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
