Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.(#LI-JW)\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nProcures goods and services in support of the business operations.\nActs as the communication link between internal customers, suppliers and external customers on pre-production ramp up and full production volume.\nReviews requisitions, contacts vendors, examines bids and initiates contracts.\nResponsible for the procurement of parts and supplies for new products, existing products and non-production supplies.\nInitiates purchases driven through MRP process.\nAssesses when to execute and what order to place based on other factors.\nCoordinates and manages last time buys for products end of life.\nEnsures on-time delivery, purchase price variance and inventory management.\nTracks forecast accuracy and reports back to appropriate personnel.\nUpdates standard costs for assigned parts.\nFacilitates quoting and sourcing of parts to improve supply and reduce costs.\nActs as primary contact with suppliers, internal and external customers to facilitate problem resolution for assigned material.\nAddresses and resolves situations such as supply chain shortages, allocations, bad balances, discrepant material and alternate sources of supply.\nHas responsibility for continuous improvement including data integrity and parameter management.\nAnalyzes variances to determine root cause and implement corrective action.\nManages overall relationship with and performance of suppliers.\nMeets regularly with suppliers to set goals and understand next generation of product offerings.\nEvaluates supplier performance and helps drive performance improvements.\nDevelops and documents audit procedures and plans for Procurement to ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures.\nEnsures audit readiness among all purchasing personnel.\nCoordinates and conducts internal self-audits and ISO reviews.\nAction audit findings to clear audit exposures.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nBasic knowledge of electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.\nKnowledge of procurement processes, inventory management and supplier management.\nGood knowledge of the types of materials being purchased by the department.\nGood negotiation and problem resolution skills.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.\nAbility to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.\nStrong knowledge of SCM policies, and procedures and ISO standards.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.\nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nOccasional overnight travel may be required.\nTypical Experience\nTwo to Four years relevant experience\nTypical Education\nBachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational requirements may vary by geography.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
