Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.\nDetailed Description\nSpecialist level position for engineers who provide engineering support in these areas Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nResponsible for the production of site utilities (gas, water, electricity) to produce steam, chilled water, de-ionized water and compressed air for manufacturing.\nEnsures facility is always in compliance with all local and government regulations.\nProvides technical direction to facilities staff and directs same in non-routine work as applicable.\nWorks with management and technical staff to formulate plans on equipment placement and replacement as necessary.\nCoordinates contract services, inspections and audits as necessary.\nManages multiple projects varying in complexity using solid project management skills and tools.\nDrives the supplier/contractor selection process and ensures that all orders/requisitions are places with all the necessary drawings, specifications and documentation.\nMonitors and reports progress status of projects along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, worksite appearance to site management team and evaluates contractors on these aspects.\nEnsures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.\nManages and directs EHS functions such as: occupational health, claims management, industrial hygiene, safety, hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, and ergonomics.\nEnsures compliance with applicable government EHS regulations.\nDevelops new programs to meet new/revised regulations.\nCollaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed and existing processes and equipment and making recommendations.\nPerforms periodic reviews of EHS programs and initiatives to identify and control risks.\nEnsures compliance to ISO 50001:2011 – Energy Management System Standards.\nResponsible for the design, deployment, implementation and support of Celesticas Energy Management.\nWorks with all Celestica Corporate and Celestica sites Energy staffs to meet its energy objectives and to develop implementation schedules and ongoing support plans and provides support and leadership through completion of the plan.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nEngineering Foundation Competencies\nKnowledge of Industrial hygiene, Environmental, Health and Safety programs and regulations including ISO 14001.\nKnowledge of Industrial Engineering standards.\nIn-depth knowledge of structural and facilities engineering and manufacturing processes.\nAbility to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.\nStrong knowledge of IT platforms, database design and programming languages.\nStrong knowledge of some or all of the following: UNIX, NT, database management system.\nAbility to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.\nAbility to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.\nAbility to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. \nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nTypical Experience\nThree to six years of relevant experience\nTypical Education\nBachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. \nEducational requirements may vary by geography.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
