This job is a first-level manager within a Site or Corporate office. Can effectively resolve conflict. #LI-SO1\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nManages financial and accounting staff within the department.\nStaffs the department, assigns work, reviews performance and addresses performance issues.\nProvides leadership, coaching, and development.\nPromotes and maintains a productive work environment.\nDevelops policies, procedures and business controls to provide work direction.\nManages the audit, compliance and external reporting processes.\nActs as a liaison to federal, state, insurance, banking and other external auditors.\nDevelops and implements business controls and procedures to minimize or comply with audit recommendations.\nProvides information to consultants responsible for external financial reporting.\nProvides guidance to management on accounting policies and procedures.\nEnsures compliance with corporate policies and objectives.\nManages payroll processing for a site or sites.\nEnsures accurate and timely paychecks.\nWorks with the Human Resources department and other to continually develop and improve the process.\nManages special projects and/or external relationships (e.g., travel agency, risk management, etc.).\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nAbility to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.\nAbility to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees\nAbility to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, PowerPoint.\nExcellent negotiation and problem resolution skills.\nAbility to recommend accounting process changes based on intimate knowledge of accounting processes, policies and procedures.
