Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nThe Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our Newmarket manufacturing site.\n\nThe role supports executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.\n\nThis role will work through our corporate Centers’ of Excellence to provide local site feedback on corporate pilot programs and will support corporate roll outs.\n\nProvide consultation and support to managers with implementing and carrying out HR policies and practices, employee development, performance management, and other employee relations issues, including performance counseling, discipline and termination, workforce planning, risk management and employment law implications.\n\nWork closely with Corporate HR to champion, execute and monitor the effectiveness of corporate programs and initiatives.\n\nSupports implementation of HR initiatives at the site and ensures appropriate change management is in place.\n\nContribute to the creation of a workplace that mirrors our core values.\n\nChampion the shaping and sustaining of a diverse and inclusive workplace that is engaging, enabling and energizing.\n\nSupport management and talent acquisition in obtaining and retaining top talent through collaboration of determining staff needs and appropriate compensation.\n\nLead engagement activities at the site. Works with management team to ensure effective performance management and culture building practices are in place.\n\nEnsures compliance to corporate policies, governmental regulations and laws. Keeps abreast of legislative decisions, changes in federal, state and local employment laws and regulations to limit legal exposure and liability.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nSuccess in supporting effective and positive employee relations, retention and reward programs\n\nThe ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously within a rapid and complex changing work environment\n\nExcellent organizational and interpersonal skills\n\nStrong business and operational acumen to effectively partner with site business leaders.\n\nAbility to work independently.\n\nIn depth understanding of applicable provincial and federal labour laws.\n\nKnowledge of world class manufacturing processes and lean and/or Six Sigma strategies.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are generally performed in good working conditions.\n\nOccasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.\n\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.\n\nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nSalary\nThe stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.\nThe range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.\nSalary Range: CAD 64,338 - 90,874/yr\nTypical Experience\nMinimum of 3-5 years’ progressive HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.\n\nCompetence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.\n\nExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nExcellent knowledge of systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google applications, etc.)\n\nKnowledge of Canva is an asset.\n\nAbility to negotiate and influence within a collaborative framework.\n\nAbility to work independently.\n\nDemonstrated initiative to analyze and resolve problems quickly, efficiently and collaboratively.\n\nBusiness maturity, diverse experience in others areas of the business recommended.\nTypical Education\nBachelor’s degree and/or College Diploma in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work history or certifications in Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant field.\n\nAttained or working towards CHRP / CHRL Designation.\n\nCompletion of the certification is considered an asset.
