Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nDevelops and establishes systems and processes that ensure compliance with government customs and trade regulations.\nDevelops import/export policy and guidelines.\nConducts education programs and due diligence to ensure compliance for country employees.\nEvaluates product specifications based on import /export regulations, classifies items and identifies any special instruction or requirements to employees and customers.\nEnsures current and thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, laws and upcoming changes.\nOversees broker relationship as executed by junior staff, including performance, billings, and systems interface.\nResponsible for process development, reengineering, implementation and training relating to operational improvements or legislation changes related to area of responsibility.\nActs as a liaison with government bodies including customs, revenue, and trade offices.\nDevelops and implements regional logistics solutions including multiple sites and third party providers.\nDevelops and implements logistics services to support each element of a business areas supply chain model.\nAssesses feasibility of programs with implementation requirements, establishes roll out plan, and initiates program execution.\nInterfaces with various levels of Celestica management to ensure processes are in place and working such that we maintain compliance with Logistics processes.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nGood knowledge of electronics manufacturing environment, materials and processes.\nExpert understanding and interpretation of traffic and customs rules and regulations.\nKnowledge of basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and multiple business applications.\nCommercial and financial awareness, particularly of transportation and logistics costs and regulations.\nGood financial, analytical and negotiation skills.\nAbility to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.\nTypical Experience\nSix to eight years of relevant experience.\nTypical Education\nBachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.\nEducational requirements may vary by geography.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
