They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application). Software creation follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables).\nThe Senior Lead Engineer, Software works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.\nIn this role, the Senior Lead Engineer leads Board Support Package (BSP) and firmware development for Celestica's high-performance networking switch platforms, developing and integrating low-level device drivers, customizing BSP and boot code, and driving board bring-up in close partnership with hardware and manufacturing teams.\nDetailed Description\nResponsibilities:\n1) Responsible for tracking, analyzing, and locating issue encountered.\n2) Collaborating with front-end, customers, and the market to deploy and design BMC-related requirements on products.\n3) Coordinate multi functions cross sites to debug issue and feature development on products.\n4) Design, develop and release BMC firmware package on products.\n5) Customer/Vendor communication on the design\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nEmbedded Linux or BMC(OpenBMC, AMI, or other BMC supplier) development experience.\n\nUnderstanding Linux device driver, file system and memory management.\n\nFamiliar with IPMI, Redfish, and I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO, PCIe/PCI, and Power Management etc.\n\nSolid C/C++ , Linux shell and Make file programming skills, experience in Python, Java.\n\nAbility to rapidly acquire working knowledge of unfamiliar new technologies.\n\nMulticultural working experience, Good communication and teamwork. \nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. \nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nOccasional travel may be required.\nTypical Experience\n6 to 12 years\nTypical Education\nBachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational Requirements may vary by Geography\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
