This is an entry training level for a supervisory role. This job is a working level and typically reports into a first-level manager. Provides leadership to employees performing routine work within a single function or work group. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Receives detailed assignments and follows established processes to meet the goals of the unit. Develops schedules and enforces policies and procedures. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the departments operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Provides direction to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at regular intervals. Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Provides input for employees performance reviews and compensation reviews; recommends disciplinary action as necessary. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nAdministers, organizes and conducts training in the assembly, inspection, testing and repair of company products.\nDevelops and delivers training packages for production equipment.\nTrains and certifies production operators in adding, removing and replacing component parts including through-hole and surface mount component technology.\nTrains in areas relative to the assembly, modification, repair and standards associated with company products etc.\nProvides on-the-job training for operation of production equipment.\nDesigns training curriculum and courses to prepare employees for production positions, (can include third party training providers).\nTests employees and audits trained operators.\nCertifies or decertifies operators as a result of testing.\nMaintains a training database for all skills related training for direct staff and ESD/technical certification for other staff.\nDisseminates re-certification notices, creates and distributes certification cards, and updates employees training records\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nIn-depth knowledge of technologies, including: through-hole, surface mount, surface mount fine/extra fine pitch, and associated modification and repair techniques.\nIPC Class A Instructor Certification\nAbility to train trainers.\nProficient in computer applications including Windows NT, Lotus Notes, MS Office Suite, etc.\nStrong presentation, teaching and coaching skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse group of internal customers.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both in one to one and group situations\nPhysical Demands\n Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.\nDuties of this position may occasionally require light physical effort and exertion such as prolonged repetitive motion requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye co-ordination, standing, sitting and or standing in a confined work station, climbing using equipment, handling lightweight materials, etc.\nDuties of this position may occasionally require heavy manual effort and considerable exertion for short periods including lifting objects.\nDuties often require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.\nAbove demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines\nTypical Experience\nFour to six years of relevant experience\nTypical Education\nTwo or three year community college diploma in a related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational Requirements may vary by Geography\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
