In this role, you will be the bridge between design and production, ensuring our hardware is robust, compliant, and ready for the real world. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to execute complex test plans, debug hardware prototypes, and analyze signal performance.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nBoard Bring-Up & Validation: Assist in the initial power-on and functional verification of new PCB assemblies (PCBAs).\n\nSignal Integrity (SI) Testing: Conduct physical layer measurements (jitter, crosstalk, eye diagrams) on high-speed interfaces like PCIe, USB, and DDR.\n\nPower Testing: Perform DC-DC converter characterization, including efficiency measurements, load transients, and power sequencing validation.\n\nElectrical Characterization: Utilize lab equipment to verify electrical specifications and ensure designs meet internal and industry standards.\n\nData Analysis & Reporting: Document test results, identify failures, and work with the design team to root-cause hardware bugs.\n\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nHands-on Lab Experience: Proficiency with standard test equipment, including:\n\nDigital Oscilloscopes (high bandwidth)\n\nDigital Multimeters (DMMs)\n\nProgrammable Power Supplies and Electronic Loads\n\nScripting experience in a terminal environment\nSpectrum Analyzers or VNAs (a plus)\n\nTechnical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of Signal Integrity concepts (impedance matching, reflections, transmission line theory).\n\nAbility to read and interpret complex schematics and PCB layouts.\n\nBasic soldering skills for rework and attaching test probes.\n\nSoft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. \nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nOccasional travel may be required.\nTypical Experience\n3+ years of experience in similar job roles\nTypical Education\nBachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational Requirements may vary by Geography\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
