They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application). Software creation follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables).\nThe Senior Lead Engineer, Software works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.\nIn this role, the Senior Lead Engineer leads switch silicon SDK development and integration for Celestica's data center networking switches - porting and enabling merchant silicon SDKs across multiple Network Operating Systems, driving SDK design and API development, and supporting hardware bring-up in close partnership with HW/SI/QA teams.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nLead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.\nProvide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go-to person) in one or more technical areas.\nReview, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback.\nLead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.\nProactively promote industry best practices.\nMay manage relationships with key vendors/partners.\nLead the porting of switch silicon SDKs under different Network Operating Systems (ONL/SONiC/CentOS, etc.).\nProduce SDK design documents and drive SDK architecture decisions.\nDevelop SDK test scripts and APIs.\nSupport FCT (Functional Circuit Test) bring-up and drive FCT issue tracking to resolution.\nCo-work with HW/SI/QA teams to track and resolve issues.\nAnalyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites.\nDesign and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies.\nTest software development methodology (may be done in agile environment).\nProvide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers including Peer-Reviews to achieve elegant solutions.\nProvide recommendations for continuous improvement.\nWork alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.\nKeep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nProject Management - Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project. Able to create a project/change management plan and ensure that the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget.
