You will research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Other responsibilities will be testing, simulation, validating and qualifying the systems and make adjustments as needed. You will need to provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems that have been designed. The role will work in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. You will enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.\nDetailed Description\nPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:\nWork with the guidance and support from Sr. Staff and Principal-level engineers\nDesign, develop and implement technical solutions for complex projects. Participate in project planning and scheduling.\nPropose innovative solutions for performance, reliability, and features of system or product.\nProvides technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers.\nReviews and interprets customer specifications and may act as primary customer contact.\nAnalyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develop and lead deployment strategies and plans.\nLead and manage schematic design, Bills of material, power tree, drawings, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews\nLead power bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing assembly, and deployment\nLead relationships with key vendors and partners.\nKeep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations, and share within team\nLiaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.\nAnalyze and create reports and documentation of specifications, design, testing, debugging, and etc.\nMay be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas.\nKnowledge/Skills/Competencies\nExperienced in power design of single/multi-phase DC/DC converter, point-of-load converter, LDO, MOSFETs, magnetics, hot-swap circuitry of how-swap controller, load switches, current sense circuit and amplifier, and etc\nExperienced in designing power systems for networking, compute, or storage products\nExperienced in high-current, low-voltage power subsystems for CPU, GPU, ASIC, SoC, and FPGA\nExperienced in PCB stack-up, power planes, and tools used to simulate voltage gradients\nFamiliar with schematic capture and CAD layout tools or equivalent ones\nProficient with circuit simulation tools such as SIMPLIS, PSPICE, and LTSPICE, or equivalent tools\nKnowledge of high-density power modules and Vertical Power Delivery (Knowledge on Integrated Voltage Regulator (IVR) is a plus)\nExperienced with power integrity tools such as PowerDC or equivalent and board level evaluation\nExperienced with design and troubleshooting of power management interfaces such as PMBus, AVS, SVID and SVI2/3.\nExperienced with defining specifications and validation of power connectors, cable assemblies and fuses\nFamiliar with NPI hardware design and deployment cycle\nExperienced with development of test automation for power validation that is a plus.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present to various audiences effectively\nPhysical Demands\nDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.\nDuties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. \nRepetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.\nOccasional travel may be required.\nTypical Experience\n7+ years' of related experience\nTypical Education\nBachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nEducational Requirements may vary by Geography\nSalary\n$128,000 - 170,000 USD/year\nThe salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.\nNotes\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
