This role partners closely with Product, UX/UI, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant solutions that meet organizational needs.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong experience across modern front-end frameworks, back-end development, APIs, and database design, along with a collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.\nThis role operates within a headless CMS architecture (Contentstack) and a Vue.js/Nuxt.js front end, working closely with the Web Marketing team to deliver secure, high-performing experiences across CST’s global web properties. This position reports to the Director of Web and is located onsite at our Danvers, MA headquarters.\nWhat You'll Do:\nApplication Development (40%)\nDesign, develop, and maintain full stack web applications.\nBuild responsive and intuitive user interfaces using Vue.js and Nuxt.js.\nDevelop and maintain back-end services, APIs, and business logic. Node.js is preferred, to align with the shared JavaScript/TypeScript stack.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.\nBuild and maintain content models, components, and integrations within Contentstack (or the organization’s designated headless CMS) to support scalable, reusable web experiences.\nUse AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security, and test coverage.\nParticipate in code reviews and enforce development standards.\nArchitecture & Technical Design (20%)\nContribute to system architecture decisions and technical design discussions.\nDesign scalable and secure API integrations.\nSupport and evolve a headless, API-first architecture (Contentstack, Nuxt.js/Vue.js) that enables content reuse across web properties and channels.\nEnsure optimal performance, reliability, and security of applications.\nMonitor and optimize for Core Web Vitals and other web performance benchmarks.\nEvaluate and recommend new technologies and tools.\nDatabase & Integration Management (15%)\nDesign and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.\nOptimize queries and database performance.\nDevelop integrations with third-party systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, analytics platforms, SaaS platforms).\nEnsure data integrity and adherence to governance standards.\nTesting, Deployment & DevOps Collaboration (15%)\nDevelop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern frameworks (e.g., Vitest, Playwright, Cypress).\nSupport CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.\nCollaborate with DevOps to ensure secure and efficient production releases.\nTroubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement (10%)\nPartner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).\nDocument technical specifications and processes.\nChampion web accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) and SEO best practices across all web properties.\nContribute to ongoing improvements in development practices and tooling.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n5+ years of full stack development experience\nProficiency in:\nFront-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript)\nVue.js (Composition API) and Nuxt.js required; experience with React or Angular is a plus.\nHands-on experience with a headless CMS platform (Contentstack strongly preferred; Contentful, Sanity, or similar considered).\nHands-on experience with a headless/composable commerce platform (CommerceTools strongly preferred; similar considered)\nHands-on experience with search infrastructure (Elasticsearch preferred; similar considered)\nBack-end languages (Node.js, Python, Java, C#, or similar)\nExperience with RESTful and/or GraphQL API development.\nStrong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.\nFamiliarity with Git-based version control.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor).\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred.\nUnderstanding of secure coding practices and data protection standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10).\nWorking knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) and SEO fundamentals.\nExperience writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) using modern frameworks (e.g., Vitest, Playwright, Cypress, Jest).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProduction experience with Vue.js/Nuxt.js in a high-traffic marketing or e-commerce environment.\nExperience with GraphQL APIs and modern state-management patterns (e.g., Pinia).\nFamiliarity with performance budgets and Core Web Vitals optimization.\nExperience with component/design systems (e.g., Storybook).\nExperience supporting multi-region or multi-language websites.\nExperience in life sciences, healthcare, or another regulated industry.\nThis position has a starting base salary range of $157,000 - $222,000 per year, which the company, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.
