This will involve rapid, efficient responses to real-time issues as well as the careful development of long-term solutions in collaboration with our engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\nFabricate, modify, and assemble mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.\nAssembly, testing, and installation of custom manufacturing tools and equipment.Precise, detail-oriented mechanical assembly according to engineering drawings.\nElectrical component and cabinet wiring according to engineering drawings.\n\nCreate and modify mechanical CAD models and drawings.\nPerform machining and welding work as needed.\nSystematically apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software components to identify problems and develop robust solutions.\nWork closely with equipment engineers, process engineers, and production operators to ensure production equipment operates reliably and efficiently.\nAssist in the construction of new equipment and the development of improvements to existing equipment.\nWork hands-on with roll-to-roll web handling and processing equipment, including rollers, drives, edge guides, brakes, and steering mechanisms.\nMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)\n The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\nExperience/Education\nAn associate's or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or similar is preferred.\n2+ years of hands-on experience as a machinist, welder, mechanic, equipment engineer, or similar experience is desired.\nExperience with the design, assembly, and/or maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nIndependent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology.\nStrong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.\nAble to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.\nSolid background in using 3D computer-aided design software (SolidWorks strongly preferred).\nCan read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.\nAble to create and modify mechanical drawings, models, and assemblies.\nCan create and modify technical documents such as work instructions.\nMaintains a clean and orderly workspace.\nAble to use hand and machine tools safely.\nA qualified candidate will have a subset of these skills\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles.\nFamiliar with materials and construction methods typical of manufacturing equipment.\nSome knowledge of PLC systems and device configuration software.\nFamiliar with statistical process control concepts.\nKnowledge of electrical schematics\nExperience with electrical cabinet wiring\nExperience with assembly and/or maintenance of roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment \nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
