You'll have the opportunity to own designs from concept and CAD through prototyping, validation, and production, while working closely with manufacturing, quality, electrical engineering, customers, and other cross-functional teams.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands that great product design isn't just about making something work, it’s about making it robust, manufacturable, scalable, and ready for the real world.\nIf you have experience designing connectors or complex injection molded components and want to work on technically challenging products, we'd love to hear from you.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDesign and develop injection molded, overmolded, and progressive-die stamped connector components for integration into flex harness assemblies.\nTake designs from concept development through 2D/3D CAD, prototyping, feasibility analysis, tolerance stackups, and design validation.\nDevelop practical design solutions that balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and scalability.\nUse mold flow analysis and FEA simulations to evaluate and optimize designs.\nDevelop scalable manufacturing processes for integrating connector components into flex harness assemblies.\nApply design-for-manufacturing principles to complex molded and stamped components.\nOwn APQP documentation and processes for flex harness assemblies; develop and maintain DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and PFMEAs.\nSupport product development and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle.\nApply your understanding of high- and low-voltage connection systems to develop reliable products.\nWork closely with customers and internal cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept through execution.\nCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other teams to resolve technical challenges and keep programs moving.\nMinimum Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.\n2-5 years of mechanical design engineering experience, with experience designing connectors, injection molded components, stamped components, or other complex electromechanical components.\nHands-on experience developing manufacturing processes for connectors and injection molded components at scale.\nExperience with or exposure to mold flow analysis and FEA is preferred.\nFamiliarity with the product development lifecycle for high- and low-voltage connection systems.\nProficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks or NX preferred.\nExposure to APQP processes and engineering documentation such as DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA, and PPAP is preferred.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Industry Experience\nExperience in automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics industries is highly desirable.\nFamiliarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
