As an Associate Ecologist, you will be responsible for technical leadership, project delivery, and commercial oversight for ecological service, working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure high standards of delivery, compliance and continuous improvement.\n\nThis is a hybrid role suited to someone who thrives in a technical, client facing environment and enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making a tangible impact.\n\n What you will do\nLeading a portfolio of interesting and complex ecological projects from initial client liaison through to completion.\nMentoring and managing enthusiastic Ecologists by adopting a creative and an inspiring approach.\nContributing to business development activities including client relationships and writing fee proposals to expand our current portfolio.\nMaintaining quality and health and safety standards\nDemonstrating efficient and profitable delivery.\nWork collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders\nContribute to continuous improvement, compliance and quality standards\nLine manage and mentor Assistant to Senior Ecologists.\nPreliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA)\nProvide Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) support on complex projects.\n Who you are\nYou are an experienced and motivated professional who brings a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You will ideally have:\nExtensive relevant experience in a similar role within consultancy.\nDegree (or higher) in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.\nFull Member of CIEEM (MCIEEM).\nStrong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.\nProven experience delivering complex ecological projects.\nHolder of one or more protected species licences.\nFull UK driving licence.\nStrong organisational and communication skills\nA high level of attention to detail and accountability\nThe ability to manage priorities effectively in a dynamic environment\nA collaborative approach and a commitment to doing things the right way\nJoin us\nYou’ll be joining a business where your contribution matters and where professionalism, integrity and teamwork are genuinely valued.
