With a growing portfolio of specialist businesses, Celnor provides essential services that protect people, property and the environment.\nWhile each business retains its own identity, culture and technical specialism, all are supported by a central group function that invests in people, systems and long-term sustainable growth.\nJob details\n Are you an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in your career?\nAirey Miller is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and develop its growing structural engineering team, delivering a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial and public sector environments.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical engineering with team leadership, client relationships and business development.\n\nWhat you will do\nLead structural design, assessments and appraisals across new builds, refurbishments, extensions and change-of-use projects.\nUndertake and oversee structural inspections, condition surveys and defect investigations.\nPrepare and review structural calculations, drawings, technical reports and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.\nLead, mentor and develop a team of structural engineers, supporting their technical development and progression towards chartership.\nManage project workloads, budgets, resources and delivery programmes, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard.\nAct as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing clear technical advice.\nPrepare fee proposals, scopes of work and project documentation, ensuring commercial and technical requirements are met.\nWork collaboratively with architects, contractors, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.\nSupport business development activities, including tenders, client meetings and identifying new opportunities.\n\nWho you are\n Essential:\nDegree in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng, MSc or equivalent).\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status with MIStructE or MICE membership.\nSignificant structural engineering consultancy experience, ideally within a multidisciplinary environment.\nProven experience leading, supervising or mentoring engineers.\nStrong technical knowledge of structural design, building inspections, condition surveys and defect investigations.\nExperience using structural analysis and design software, alongside CAD packages such as AutoCAD or Revit.\nGood understanding of Building Regulations, British Standards, the Building Safety Act and CDM Regulations.\nStrong communication, project management and commercial skills, including managing budgets and client relationships.\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.\nDesirable:\nExperience across residential, commercial, education, healthcare or public sector projects.\nKnowledge of higher-risk buildings, BIM processes and digital project delivery.\nPrevious involvement in business development, tenders or winning new work.\nAdditional qualifications in project management, health and safety or conservation.\n\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary, dependent on experience.\nDiscretionary bonus scheme.\nCompany pension contributions.\nPrivate medical insurance.\n28 days' annual leave, including bank holidays.\nAdditional 3-4 days off over the Christmas period.\nAn additional day off for your birthday.\nPaid professional subscriptions.\nOpportunities for continued professional development and career progression.\nThe opportunity to lead and develop a growing engineering team.\n\n.\n Important information\nCelnor Group and its businesses manage recruitment directly.
