Working under the guidance of the Team Lead and alongside experienced colleagues, you will contribute to a varied portfolio of projects, from structural inspections and defect investigations to design and appraisal work on new build and existing buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to develop their technical skills, gain broad project exposure within a multidisciplinary practice and progress towards chartered status (or continue to build on it).\n\nWhat you will do\nAirey Miller is looking for a Structural Engineer to join its growing engineering team, working alongside experienced colleagues on a varied portfolio of projects.\nYou will carry out structural inspections, condition surveys and defect investigations across existing buildings and structures.\nThe role will involve structural design and analysis for new-build, refurbishment, extension and change-of-use projects.\nYou will prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.\nYou will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.\nYou will support senior engineers in managing projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining technical standards.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise, gain experience across a range of sectors and progress towards chartered status.\n Who you are\nA degree or equivalent qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng or MSc).\nExperience working within a structural engineering consultancy, with a sound understanding of structural principles and design codes.\nExperience carrying out building inspections, condition surveys, defect investigations and preparing technical reports.\nCompetence in structural analysis, design software and CAD packages such as AutoCAD or Revit.\nYou will be working towards chartership with IStructE or ICE, or already hold chartered status.\nStrong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.\nA proactive, detail-oriented approach, a willingness to travel to site and a full UK driving licence.\nJoin us\nYou’ll be joining a business where your contribution matters and where professionalism, integrity and teamwork are genuinely valued.
