Through structured training and hands-on experience, you will develop specialist skills across environmental monitoring, water sampling, noise monitoring, air quality monitoring and a range of environmental field services.\n\nThe role is primarily field-based, involving travel to industrial, commercial and public sector sites throughout Ireland. Based from our Limerick office, you'll work closely with experienced technicians, learning how to undertake environmental monitoring programmes, collect environmental samples, maintain monitoring equipment and support the delivery of environmental compliance services.\n\nAxis offers a clearly defined progression pathway, enabling successful candidates to develop into technicians and progress into more senior technical and supervisory roles over time.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTravel to client sites across Ireland to support environmental monitoring projects.\nAssist with environmental noise surveys and occupational air and noise monitoring.\nCollect groundwater, surface water, stormwater and wastewater samples.\nInstall, service and retrieve ambient air and dust monitoring equipment.\nSupport Legionella sampling and other specialist environmental monitoring activities.\nAssist with bund integrity testing and environmental field investigations.\nPrepare monitoring equipment, sample containers and project documentation.\nLabel, preserve, store and transport samples in accordance with company procedures.\nComplete field sheets, chain-of-custody forms, photographs and electronic records accurately.\nEnter and check monitoring data and assist with factual reporting.\nCarry out equipment checks, maintenance and calibrations following training.\nWork safely in accordance with site rules, risk assessments and company procedures.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the business.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nFull driving licence valid for driving in Ireland.\nStrong attention to detail and an organised approach to work.\nGood communication, numeracy and basic computer skills.\nInterest in environmental monitoring and technical field work.\nAbility to follow written procedures and work safely.\nWillingness to travel regularly, including occasional early starts and overnight stays.\nComfortable working outdoors and carrying out practical tasks in varying weather conditions.\nAbility to work independently following training and as part of a team.\nReliable, punctual and professional approach.\n\nDesirable\n\nQualification in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Laboratory Science or a related discipline.\nPrevious experience in a field service, environmental, laboratory or technical role.\nExperience with environmental sampling or monitoring activities.\nExperience working on industrial, utility, construction or wastewater treatment sites.\nKnowledge of water sampling, monitoring equipment or sample handling procedures.\nSafe Pass, Manual Handling or other relevant site safety training.\n\nCandidates with strong practical ability and a willingness to learn will also be considered, as full training will be provided.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and working in a field-based environment.\n\nThe successful candidate will be eager to learn, self-motivated and comfortable working outdoors at a variety of client sites.
