Join us and build your career with a company that is Building a Better Future.\nJob Summary\nPlan and facilitate the execution of multiple one or multi-million dollar awarded projects, responsible for maintaining accurate records on projects including project setup, schedules, and tracking costs from the pre-construction to post-construction phase and preparing reports. Support executing the many growth and debottlenecking projects at the terminals and on the dispatch/loadouts at the cement plants. Helps implementing the new customer service tools such as the gate-to-gate measuring systems, SAP Maintenance module and automated loading.\nJob Responsibilities\nSafety\nMaintain a safe workplace and strive for zero occupational injuries, accidents, and environmental incidences\nAssurance of the application of the Environment, Health and Safety standards and procedures to promote a zero-incident project and full compliance with local environmental regulations\nAdhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.\nProgram/Project Management\nTake the lead and ownership to drive the program forward (safely and compliantly) on time and within budget\nMake accurate quantity surveys and estimate the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor's work, making certain that all areas have been accounted for prior to submitting estimate for review\nSets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors execution, and summarizes progress of project\nAnalyze data to prioritize national projects and propose strategic implementation programs\nAssist in the use of CAPEX funds plan for all the terminals\nLead Corrective and Preventive Maintenance program, which will include the identification of critical paths and find the solutions\nOrder and review Plans and Specifications\nBuild job framework, schedules, costs, and margins\nReview bids before distribution to internal customers\nPrepare requests for proposals, evaluate proposal responses, and assist Procurement with negotiation and preparation of contracts. Negotiate proposal vs. contract discrepancies with vendors, if necessary\nProject setup and prepare all required documentation and files\nManage the daily details of the project, including purchases, subcontracting, changes and coordination of office and field activities during the construction period\nResponsible for the project budget and schedule\nTimely and periodically prepares reports for management regarding status of project including project budget and schedule\nInterface with and address ongoing design issues and requests for information (RFI’s) within the company engineering and construction companies. Review and approve vendor and engineering drawings as needed\nEstimate and submit timely change proposals to management. Prepare and execute change order\nWork with internal customer and contractors if project issues occur that are beyond the scope of operations\nMonitor contractor and vendor progress and evaluate / approve invoices for payment\nAssist with the vendor payment process by providing the internal departments with the information required to reconcile the vendors’ accounts\nCoordinate contractor activities with plant/terminal operations\nCoordinate with the contractor for material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with progress schedule and adjust as necessary due to changes\nWork effectively with other functional areas of Cemex: Global Operations & Technical, Process & IT, Cement Operations, Legal & Sustainability\nRepresent Cemex, establish and maintain relationships with local agencies, Port Authorities, landowners, etc.\nEstablish and maintain relationships with existing internal customers, vendors, and engineering firms\nCollaborate and work with internal customers and contractors if project issues occur that are beyond the scope of the department\nEnsure proper handover of new equipment including all safety devices, troubleshooting procedures, LOTOTO procedures and all related standard works for safe operation\nConducts analysis of the project to improve the development, and coordinates with other areas in a team effort, to ensure that all problems are identified, addressed and timely solved\nQualifications\nMechanical Engineering or BS Civil or any other relevant bachelor’s degree in technical field\nAt least 15 years of experience in project management with leading responsibility\nPMI’s Project Management Professional Certification\nPreferable experience in the cement industry\nStrong safety focus\nPossess valid driver’s license\nBilingual (English & Spanish)\nMaster’s Degree preferable\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDemonstrated time management and organizational skills\nCritical path identification and management of project deadlines/commitments\nAbility to perform work Safely and promote all CEMEX Core Values\nAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to employees and others\nMaintain confidentiality in daily operations\nAble to interface with all departmental (environmental, planning, operations, etc.) needs and requirements as well as with governmental agencies\nStrong supervisory or management experience\nStrong experience evaluating & managing costs associated with projects; ensure adherence by evaluating & managing costs associated with projects\nAble to analyze information and drive initiatives\nFamiliar with industry concepts, practices, and procedures\nOrganizational skills and detailed oriented\nExperience in the creation of KPIs and data analysis using Microsoft Power BI\nWorking Conditions\nWillingness to commit for the role/assignment for at least the duration of the project/program\nMobile;
