Maintain plant equipment and facilities to meet operating requirements and objectives, during and outside of regular operation schedules and maintenance.\nJob Responsibilities\nPerform maintenance mechanic assignments on plant equipment and facilities\nCollect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projects\nPerform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, alignment of equipment, and inspection and repair of power transmission according to plant standards\nPerform welding and cutting assignments such as fabrication of plant equipment and structures and repair of worn process equipment according to plant standards\nInspect lubrication for mechanical equipment, record data for running equipment, take lab samples as required, drain oil and change oil and filters on all equipment oil reservoirs\nPerform pipefitter assignments to install, maintain and inspect existing and future piping structures on all types of piping systems\nOperate mobile equipment to assist with completing maintenance assigned duties\nPerform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilities\nAdhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds\nMeet or exceed company safety standards\nPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by management\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPrior Mechanical experience/welding experience, training or certification required\nPrior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plus\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPrior Mechanical experience/welding experience, training or certification required\nPrior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plus\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nBi-lingual (a plus)\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to carry out not only simple, but complex oral and written instructions and deal with problems from standardized situations and work experience.\nGood mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions and conversions of four-five digit numbers and common units of measurement in both metric and decimal system.\nAbility to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports, and Mechanical work related instruction, including safety issues and matters.\nAbility to communicate well with supervisors, welders, leadmen, other Mechanics, maintenance personnel, co-workers and outside contractors.\nElectrical and mechanical knowledge to detect potential safety hazards and breakdown of plant and quarry machinery and equipment and respond accordingly.\nAbility to identify and select the appropriate material and equipment necessary to perform the correct mechanical work and repair.\nHigh level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely and productively.\nWorking Conditions\nContinuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.\nMust wear protective equipment while at the location.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls\nHeavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment\nMust be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls.\nHeavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.\nRequires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.\nLegal Notices\nCEMEX is an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital or familial status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by under federal, state or local law in the programs or activities which it operates.\nCEMEX will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all local, state and federal laws.\nCEMEX is an E-Verify participating employer.\nArizona Smoke-Free Act.
